Fourme d'Ambert AOP
Fourme d'Ambert AOP
Fourme d'Ambert is a blue cheese produced in the Auvergne region from raw milk. Fourme d'Ambert pairs well with dried fruit and autumns fruit - such as pears, grapes, apples or figs - whether fresh or turned into jam. Take a further step and pair it with dried bananas, quince or prunes jam.
La petite histoire: Fourme d'Ambert (or simply Ambert) is one of France's oldest cheeses, dating back to the Roman occupation nearly 1,000 years ago. It is said that the Druids and the Gauls had developed the art of making this unique cheese.
Our Fourme d'Ambert is awarded AOP ("Appellation d’Origine Protégée", which means Protected Designation of Origin). The AOP mark is the highest distinction awarded by the European Union and confirms the excellence of a product, its artisanship and unimpeachable quality.
